Overview

After you validate Core installation, prepare the platform areas that application teams and operations teams depend on. The exact sequence depends on whether you will create new workload clusters, onboard third-party clusters, install Extensions, or prepare an existing environment for application workloads.

StepPrepareStart with
1Confirm cluster and day-2 operation model.Clusters
2Prepare users, roles, identity providers, and projects.Prepare users and access
3Prepare networking and ingress or load-balancing paths.Prepare networking
4Prepare Kubernetes storage consumption and storage-system dependencies.Prepare storage
5Prepare registry access for platform components and workloads.Prepare registry
6Prepare alert notification routing.Configure alert notifications
7Review backup, upgrade, scalability, and observability routes for day-2 operations.Day-2 operations

Conditional work

  • Install the Product Docs plugin immediately after Core validation if users need in-console help links.
  • Install Extensions only when the target capability is needed and the package is compatible with the current platform version.
  • Configure Global Cluster Disaster Recovery only when the deployment scenario requires a Primary and Standby global cluster design.
  • Create or onboard workload clusters only when application placement, isolation, or lifecycle requirements need separate workload clusters.
